Four Pillars of the American Legion:

1. AMERICANISM
2. CHILDREN AND YOUTH
3. NATIONAL SECURITY
4. VETERANS AFFIARS AND REHABILITATION

The American Legion has a strong dedication to supporting our nation’s youth. The organization was founded on the principle in 1919, when Children & Youth was declared one of the Legion’s four pillars. In the years since, a number of youth-oriented programs have been developed internally.

Post 159 sponsors severals programs and activities uder the four pillars:  Boy Scout Troop 159, Girls State, Boys State, Jr. Shooting Sports Club.  Our Honor Guard, Auxiliary and Riders Program support local charities and perform community service in the Bryan/College Station area.
